You will preserve me from trouble.

You will surround me with songs of deliverance.”

The Portal To Hope (A Poem on Hope)

Image
I recently found a very interesting book by Charles Peguy titled "The Portal of the Mystery of Hope". The book is an English translation of Charle's Peguy's long poem "“The Gateway of the Mystery of the Second Virtue”. It came at a time when I was reflecting about hope and needed hope myself. This poem on hope allowed me to realize many things - how we often take hope for granted and how much we really need it in our journey here on earth. The world today is in despair and these are desperate times. In our despair, we lose sight of the good things that can still happen and the blessings God is still giving us each day. May we pray for hope and may we find it like a little child who is not afraid to entrust oneself upon her Father's arms. Here are some excerpts from the poem about hope: "...My three virtues, says God. The three virtues, my creatures. My daughters, my children. Are themselves like my other creatures. Grief Poems for the Loss of a Loved One

Image
Grief Poems for the Loss of a Loved One “Sometimes grief is like a wave, and healing is like a butterfly.” It is not because things die, That they are beautiful. Things are beautiful Because somehow, A part of them lives on And never dies… When we are mourning the death of a loved one, we experience a profound sadness that nobody else seems to understand. Many times, all we need is just a warm hand to hold us and a friend who will be there for us as we face the most difficult times we’ve ever had. Let these grief poems be like a friend to you, revealing the deepest hurts in your heart as you strive to find some comfort in your hour of grief. Here are some of the grief poems included in the book: Not for One Moment Not for one lonely moment, Not for one troubled day, Not for one passing hour, Had I failed to remember you. Yes, you who are mine; You, who would always be the one. And not for one passing moment, Could you ever be truly gone. For you are right here where I stand — Here, w...

Will You Still Love Me Even If I'm Not Perfect?

Image
Will you still love me even if I’m not perfect? Will you still love me even if I’m not the kind of person you wish I were?   Will you still look into my eyes with warmth even if you saw my shadows? Will you still hold my hand even if you knew there will be times I’d let you down? For though I yearn to take care of you as I should, though I desire to love you with a love that never falters and fades, my knees tremble this very moment that you hold me in your arms. Shall I kiss you? Shall I hold your hand and bask in the light of your spirit knowing that I have my darkness, knowing there will be times that the light of my love will sometimes be overshadowed by the darkness that is in me? Sometimes I’d be silent and I might bore you. I may not laugh at your jokes, and you may not understand the spell that’s enshrouding me. Sometimes I’d get troubled and I’d fail to put into words what the hell it is that troubles me. I wouldn’t be good company then, and I couldn’t make you smile. Some...
