I may not leave lasting footprints when I pass by, but may I pass on a flame that will keep on burning until it reaches another torch that will carry on the radiance of its warmth.
Grief Poems for the Loss of a Loved One “Sometimes grief is like a wave, and healing is like a butterfly.” It is not because things die, That they are beautiful. Things are beautiful Because somehow, A part of them lives on And never dies… When we are mourning the death of a loved one, we experience a profound sadness that nobody else seems to understand. Many times, all we need is just a warm hand to hold us and a friend who will be there for us as we face the most difficult times we’ve ever had. Let these grief poems be like a friend to you, revealing the deepest hurts in your heart as you strive to find some comfort in your hour of grief. Here are some of the grief poems included in the book: Not for One Moment Not for one lonely moment, Not for one troubled day, Not for one passing hour, Had I failed to remember you. Yes, you who are mine; You, who would always be the one. And not for one passing moment, Could you ever be truly gone. For you are right here where I stand — Here, w...
A Book Review: Timeless Christian Lessons From the Classic Romance Novel by Nicholas Sparks For years, I was content that I have watched the film based on Nicholas Sparks’s novel “A Walk to Remember”. It wasn’t until I found a social media post asking about books that made readers cry that I regained interest in reading it. What’s different about the book? Would I really cry? Told through the point of view of Landon, the book allows the reader to see things from his perspective. The reader sees what he sees, and I think this works most especially in the way he sees Jamie. I love h...
“In every friendship hearts grow and entwine themselves together, so that the two hearts seem to make only one heart with only a common thought. That is why separation is so painful; it is not so much two hearts separating, but one being torn asunder.”- Fulton J. Sheen When we were kids, I think a friend is that one person we get to love for real outside of our family. It is from this person that we learn how to like and how to be liked. It is from this person that we learn the meaning of “trust”. When we grew up, however, the word love referred more and more to that “special someone”, a girlfriend or a boyfriend we feel we’d give our lives for no matter what. Maybe this is the reason why “broken hearts” almost always meant breakups with one’s romantic partner. It’s as though our hearts could never be broken by anyone else. It’s as though we couldn’t suffer more whenever we lose a friend. If you have experienced losing both, however, would you agree? Was it any less painful when you’ve...
