Love and Strength

I didn't see before this connection between love and strength.

All I knew was that love is a certain kind of strength, but that strength or power is not needed in love, for love, as I have known it before, is much more related to weakness than strength. Why weakness? Because I have been made to believe that the greatest love is demonstrated in suffering, a state of utmost weakness and pain.

Quite the opposite is true however. For the only reason love had been associated with suffering is that such a love is so strong as to withstand such a degree of suffering and pain. Strength never has left love, for love without strength is not love at all.

A woman seeks love, but not just love. What a woman seeks is a strong lover, a love that can bestow upon her strength.

Men seek love as well, for in loving another, he finds his strength, and he is strengthened in love.

Love and strength go together, power and passion join hands to give us the fullness of life we have been searching for.
